AgileBA® Foundation and Practitioner Course

What is it about?

The business analyst role is critical for successful agile projects and development. Despite this, there has been little in the way of detailed best practice guidance that directly addresses the role, responsibilities and skills of theAgile BusinessAnalyst.

In partnership with the Agile Business Consortium and APMG International, PM Academy is delighted to offer AgileBA – a professional training and certification scheme to support thoseworking in(oraspiringto)anAgile Business Analyst role. Our syllabus is based on the AgileBA Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium. The handbook offers useful, practical and comprehensive guidance on the role of the Business Analyst working in anagileway.

What can I expect?

Many generic and popular agile techniques included.

  • Phases in the life of a development project
  • The processes within an Agile project
  • The practices used in an Agile project plus their benefits and limitations
  • The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Agile Business Analyst role and responsibilities.
  • Context to the role beyond the individual project, in relation to organizational mission and strategy.
  • Additional depth, guidance and techniques for the Business Analyst role.

The practitioner training and certification aims to provide you with an understanding of:

  • How to apply the underpinning philosophy and principles of the DSDM Agile Project Framework
  • How to apply a variety of Agile practices in a project, e.g. Facilitated Workshops, MoSCoW Prioritisation, Iterative Development and Modelling
  • How to test, estimate and evaluate benefits delivery in an Agile project
  • The mechanisms for facilitation and support within an Agile project
  • The Agile approach to managing and prioritising requirements.

This is a five day course.

How and when can I Attend?

This is an intensive five day course leading to the AgileBA® Foundation examinationonthethirdday. The multiple choice, closed book exam is 40 minutes in duration and consists of 50 questions. You must obtain 50% out of the 50 available marks.

The AgileBA® Practitioner exam which takes place on the final day and isa2.5hourdurationcomplexmultiple choice, 4 question with 20 marks available per question. You must obtain 50% out of the 80 available marks. Open-book (AgileBA Handbookonly)

This course is delivered with a blend of classroom training interventions and practical syndicate and individual sessions. Evening work is also required during the course. Training by one of our accredited by the APMG International facilitators.

Do I qualify?

Depending on experience, delegates are encouraged to devote at least 20 hours of pre-course studying before attending the course. All delegates must have successfully completed the AgileBA Foundation exam before moving on to the Practitioner exam.
