P3O supports and is aligned to PRINCE2®, MSP®, M_o_R® and MoP®. It brings together a set of principles, processes and techniques to help the project management office (PMO) provide a balanced portfolio of change and ensure consistent delivery of projects and programmes across the business.
It provides a centre of excellence for the organization which includes the setting of standards. It is a flexible approach to supporting, controlling and assuring change initiatives because “one-size does not fit all” and your version of a P3O must be matched to your organizations situation and needs.

The course is delivered with a blend of classroom training interventions and practical syndicate and individual sessions. Evening work is also required during the course.
This is an intensive five day course leading to the P3O® Foundation examination on the third day. The examination format is made up of 75 multiple choice examination questions – 70 live questions and five trial in 60 minutes’ duration.
Delegates need 35 marks to pass (out of 70 available) – 50%. It is a closed book exam.
The Practitioner certification is an objective testing exam of four questions of 20 marks each – 80 marks in total and 150 minutes in duration. Delegates need 40 marks to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%. Open book – (Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices: P3O guide only).
