What is it about?

This course will benefit any individual working in a project management or cost control environment to enhance their knowledge of cost engineering, scope of estimating, planning and cost control.

The Certified Cost Technician course will demonstrate proficiency in the basic skills and knowledge of cost management. This course is your first step towards occupying a vital position in a project team and towards a successful career in cost engineering or (technical) project management.
 
The Certified Cost Technician course is specifically aimed at preparing delegates to pass the AACE CCT Certification exam

  • AACE International Certified Cost Technician Primer
  • Skills & Knowledge of Cost Engineering, 6th Edition
  • TCM Framework, 2nd Edition
  • Certificate of Attendance

After 3 years, a Certified Cost Technician (CCT), with the relevant experience, should apply to become a Certified Cost Professional (CCP).

As cost engineers on both the Technician and the Professional levels are often required to perform the same functions and require the same skills. The Certified Cost Technician and Certified Cost Professional courses cover the same materials.

How and when can I attend?

This cost course is an intensive 5 day course. Delegates will work through typical exam questions.

The Certified Cost Technician (CCT) exam is:

  • 3 hours maximum
  • 100 simple multiple choice questions
  • Open Book – using AACE’s CCT Primer and S&K only (must be in a binder), plus any style, battery operated calculator permitted (not provided by the testing centre)
  • Collaborative working.

The Certified Cost Technician (CCT) certificate is valid for 3 years and is non renewable. The CCT course facilitates you to move forward to get certified as a Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
